The DeVille

First there was the Coupe DeVille; the single pickup version is the Coupe and the dual pickup version is a DeVille. I love my non-reverse Firebird, and I love my Jazzmaster, so I wanted something in this offset world that would be a little different. The DeVille copies neither shape but does sort of split the difference. The shape is very comfortable and balances nicely.  The “German Carve” is standard but not required, and double-bound German Carve is a cool option. The DeVille makes a great bass too.

The Fleetwood

I’ve always loved a double-bound Tele which got me thinking about what my Tele-adjacent version would be like. It would feel about the same but I’d smooth out that lower cutaway and offset the waist a bit, and then I’d put a point on it, kind of like a spoiler on a muscle car. I lean towards FilterTrons or Goldfoils for a sound that can cut like a Tele but also twang like a Chet. It’s available as a solid body or a thinline, and I also do a XII version. I did a three-pickup Fleetwood wtih Jaguar switch-plate, that was cool too.

The Eldorado

I love the guitars Paul Bigsby built for Hezzy Hall and for Billy Byrd, and by extension the superb guitars being built by T.K. Smith. So I took a piece of wood and started sketching until I had what looked to be an honest homage to these heroes.  The Eldo is semi-hollow with a mahogany core and maple top and back. It’s a polarizing design; it’s not for everyone and thank God for that. There is a single-cutaway version too and so far, there has only been one of those ever built.
